Hi Mario,
Glad to help.
Pro and free versions are separate plugins.
Here is a guide to download the pro version:

And here is a guide on how to install:

Let me know if any questions.
Hi,
I purchased yesterday the BBQ Pro. In the settings, I set to enable Basic Rules, Advanced Rules, Empty Agents and Email Alerts. Do you think these settings are enough?
I often receive these emails:
Email alert provided by BBQ Pro, sent from PROGRAME GRATUITE PC.
A bad request was blocked on 2022-09-20 @ 13:26:52.
Request Details:
Blocked Count: 22
Pattern Match: dotbot
Request URI: /robots.txt
The Request: /robots.txt
Query String:
Referrer:
Protocol: HTTP/1.1
IP Address: 216.244.66.249
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; DotBot/1.2; +https://opensiteexplorer.org/dotbot; help@moz.com)
Do I need to do anything or worry about these emails? Thanks.
Yes, that’s a common and effective configuration for the plugin settings. For the email alerts, you are receiving them because you enabled the option for Email Alerts. They are perfectly normal and just mean that the plugin is working properly. If you don’t want to receive email alerts, simply disable the Email Alerts option.
Thanks for the reply. Is this plugin enough to protect the site? If not, what plugin can you recommend?
Security is a many layered thing, depending on the site, project, context, etc. Also check out 2-factor authentication for multi-user sites. For more ideas on securing WordPress, check out this article at DigWP, should give you some ideas.
Hello Jeff,
I just bought the 1.7 version of BBQ Pro.
Can I block any requests from an “Hostname” or part of a “Hostname” e.g. “amazonaws.com ?
Kind regards
With BBQ Pro you can block based on URI request, user agent, IP address, query string, and/or referrer. Hostname lookups, however, are very expensive server-wise and have a negative impact on performance. So they are not included/used by BBQ Pro, which aims to be the fastest possible firewall for WordPress.
