Installing Banhammer Pro is just like installing any other WordPress plugin. After downloading the plugin zip file, you basically have two options for installing: upload via FTP or use the built-in WP plugin uploader/installer. Here are the steps for either installation method.
Before Installing
If you currently are using the free version of Banhammer, there are two possible scenarios:
- You want to import your banned/warned/restored/whitelisted targets into the pro version
- Or you do NOT want to import your targets into the pro version
For the first scenario, where you have some targets that you want to import into the pro version, you must deactivate the free version of Banhammer, but do not remove/uninstall/delete the plugin. That way, your targets will remain in the database, and will be imported when Banhammer Pro is activated.
For the second scenario, where you do NOT want to import any targets, then just make sure that the free version of Banhammer is not active.
Note that any other plugin settings will not be imported, so make a note or screenshot if you want to remember them.
