Installing a plugin from Plugin Planet is the same as installing just about any other WordPress plugin. After downloading the plugin zip file, you basically have two options for installing: upload via FTP or use the built-in WP plugin uploader/installer. Here are the steps for either installation method.

Install via WP Admin Area

Here is the easiest and recommended way to install any Pro plugin:

  1. Deactivate/uninstall the free version of the plugin, if applicable (remember to backup any settings that you want to keep)
  2. Download the plugin that you purchased from Plugin Planet
  3. In the WP Admin Area, visit Plugins ▸ Add New ▸ Upload
  4. Select the plugin zip file from your computer’s hard drive and click “Install Now”
  5. Activate the plugin from the “Plugins” screen
  6. Activate the plugin license via its “License” screen
  7. Done!

Install via FTP

If for some reason you are unable to install your plugin via the WP Admin Area, you can install via (S)FTP:

  1. Deactivate/uninstall the free version of the plugin, if applicable (remember to backup any settings that you want to keep)
  2. Download and unzip the plugin that you purchased from Plugin Planet
  3. Connect to your site via FTP and upload the plugin to /wp-content/plugins/
  4. Visit the WP Admin Area and activate the plugin from the “Plugins” screen
  5. Activate the plugin license via its “License” screen
  6. Done!
